Data Security Engineer – Microsoft (Singapore, Hybrid)
Microsoft is looking for a Data Security Engineer to help customers protect their sensitive data, meet regulatory requirements, and maintain privacy for employees and customers.
You’ll be the main technical expert during the sales process, showing customers how Microsoft’s data security solutions can solve their challenges.

You’ll work closely with sales teams, partners, and consultants to win technical decisions, address roadblocks, and guide customers from evaluation to implementation.
This role needs deep technical expertise with consultative selling skills—perfect if you love technology, problem-solving, and building trust with clients.
What you will do
- Be the go-to technical contact for customers during sales cycles.
- Showcase Microsoft solutions like Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, Insider Risk Management, and Defender for Cloud Apps.
- Lead technical presentations, workshops, demos, and architecture discussions.
- Solve customer challenges, prove solutions work in their environment, and ensure smooth handoffs to post-sales teams.
- Help shape strategies to improve clients’ security posture and create competitive advantages.
- Stay ahead of security trends and coach teams on new tech.
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years in technical pre-sales, consulting, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and security frameworks (CIS, NIST, CSA, etc.).
- Experience with SIEM, threat detection, incident response, and modern cloud security concepts like Zero Trust.
- Relevant Microsoft or security certifications (e.g., M365 Security Admin, Azure Security, CISSP, CCSP) preferred.
- Passion for learning, sharing knowledge, and adapting quickly.
