Job Description
As a Digital Solution Area Specialist at Microsoft, you will be playing an important role in Microsoft’s mission to empower every person and every organization to achieve more. Your job is to accelerate the digital transformation of downstream enterprise and public sector customers—primarily by promoting Microsoft’s Cloud, AI, and Copilot solutions.
This role is more than just sales—it’s about being a trusted advisor to enterprise clients, driving complex solution sales, and collaborating cross-functionally across engineering, marketing, and partner teams.
Here’s your day-to-day work summary:
- Drive Azure Solution Plays
Help customers migrate and modernize their digital estate, unify data platforms, and build AI-powered applications. - Grow Cloud & AI Sales
Create strategic account plans, utilize Microsoft’s internal sales tools, and exceed Azure consumption targets (ACR). - Collaborate for Impact
Work with Account Executives, Solution Engineers, Customer Success teams, and partners to deliver value. - Showcase Technical Expertise
Lead demos, architecture whiteboarding, and proof-of-concept (POC) engagements using the latest tools. - Champion Microsoft’s Cloud Vision
Position Microsoft Azure as the ideal solution for industry-specific challenges and regulatory needs. - Co-sell with Partners
Engage Microsoft’s extensive partner ecosystem to accelerate customer adoption via Azure Marketplace.
What Microsoft is Looking For
You don’t need to know everything on day one, but you should bring the right blend of technical knowledge, sales mindset, and customer empathy. Microsoft is looking for following skills:
- 5+ years of experience in technology-related sales or account management
- OR a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field plus 4+ years of sales experience
- 2+ years of solution sales or consulting experience
- Ability to explain cloud-native infrastructure, AI applications, and data platform modernization
- A collaborative spirit and proven ability to engage with partners and cross-functional teams
Technical Topics You’ll Touch On
If you’re comfortable discussing or learning about the following, you’ll survive in this role:
- Infrastructure: App modernization, IT operations, virtualization, cloud migrations (Windows, Linux, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
